how long will my extensions last?

  • The average number of eyelashes each person has is between 80-150

  • Our natural eyelashes cycle out every 90-120 days

  • It is normal to lose 1 to 5 lashes a day

  • Depending on where you are in your lash cycle the average set should last 3-4 weeks

  • They can last indefinitely with regular fills/touch ups which are recommended every 3-4 weeks to maintain fullness

  • Proper home care is crucial for successful results

Will extensions damage my eyelashes?

  • If extensions are NOT properly applied they can clump, tug and pull at your natural lashes causing breakage, damage and discomfort

  • When applied properly all lashes are separated and applied one to one (one extension to one natural lash) which requires extensive training and attention to detail

  • Eyelash extensions are safe to wear provided your lash artist is taught to correctly apply eyelash extensions

  • Flirty Flutters artists have taken in-depth, comprehensive training to provide you with safe beautiful eyelash extensions

  • If done correctly, you can wear eyelash extensions for years with no adverse side effects

Does Getting Extensions Hurt?

  • It is a pain-free relaxing experience

  • The process can be a great time for you to de-stress, regenerate or even take a nap!

  • Click here to read our blog on the signs to spot poorly applied lash extensions.

What if I am allergic to extensions?

  • It is uncommon but can arise

  • Please see your MD immediately if you experience any discomfort and return to get the extensions professionally removed

  • In the unfortunate event that this happens, eyelash extensions may not be suitable for you

What is the difference between classic and volume?

  • The Classic technique is a one-dimensional look comprised of 1:1 application by applying one extension to one natural eyelash

  • The Volume technique is a multi-dimensional look created by super light feather like "fans" of extensions

  • These super light fans are meticulously hand crafted by the technician consisting of anywhere from 3 to 15 extensions that are then carefully attached to a single natural lash

  • We are able to customize Classic and Volume lashes to tailor to each individuals desired look with varying lengths, thicknesses and curls

How do i care for my lashes?

  • Cleanse your lashes daily.

    1. Use an oil-free makeup remover or wipe to clean around your eye area.

    2. Then use a cleanser to remove makeup, dead skin cells etc. in and around the lash line to prevent irritation/infection.

    3. Gently massage the cleanser on the top and bottom of the extensions.

    4. We recommend using the FaceEnvy cleanser available in store for retail.

*Buildup on the lash line may lead to blehpharitis, (inflammation of the eyelash follicle) an eye infection, or worse demodex (eye mites).

  • Be gentle! No rubbing, pulling, or plucking extensions.

  • Be careful when applying oily face/eye creams. If it comes in contact with the extensions it will cause the extensions to detach faster.

  • Schedule your fills in advance to prolong longevity and avoid any disappointments as we do book up quickly.

  • If you arrive at your fill with anything less than 40% of your extensions remaining it will be charged as a full set.

  • Always thoroughly cleanse your lashes right before your fill appointments.

Oily skin types experience shedding at a faster rate. We recommend wiping your lids throughout the day to prevent oil build up on the extensions. Hormonal imbalances, extreme stress, taking antibiotics or immunosuppressants may also affect your lash growth cycle. Iron deficiency, lack of nutrients may cause lash loss. Thyroid disease is also known to result in poor lash retention.

As you can see there are numerous factors that may cause lash fall out. If you feel your eyelash extensions are falling out at a faster rate than normal please do not hesitate to contact us and we will work together to find out the cause. Always remember the cleaner you keep them the longer they last!

Is there anything i should avoid?

  • It is ok to get them wet after the service. However avoid extreme heat, or steams for the first 24 hours.

  • No sleeping on your face. Unfortunately face sleepers are not the ideal candidate for eyelash extensions since they will be pulling and tugging on the extensions throughout the night.

  • NO mascara, liquid liners, gel liners, or organic solvents such as oils, glycols or carbomers. This will result in a sticky buildup residue on the base of the lashes that will result in poor retention or worse, and eye infection! If you must wear eyeliner use a dark powder with a straight angle brush or use a felt tip eyeliner instead. We recommend the non-waterproof liquid liner from the Sephora house brand if you absolutely must wear eyeliner. Click Here to purchase.

  • Never use water-proof mascara. It is very hard to remove and will damage the base of the extensions.

  • Do not use an eyelash curler

  • Do not rub, pick or pull on the extensions

  • Stay away from extreme heat exposure such as hot ovens, bbq’s, blow dryers, and lighters. It will singe the tips and ruin the eyelash extensions which will result in a complete removal + Full Set.

What if I no longer want my extensions?

  • You can return to get them professionally removed or let them shed out naturally.

  • Do NOT attempt to remove the eyelash extensions yourself. This will result in damage to your natural eyelash as well as possible irritation and distress to your ocular eye area.
